Ben Harper Featuring Vanessa De Mata - Boa Sorte (Good Luck)
“…It’s about a life full of moments of powerful and transformative emotions that frequently send chills down our spines, fill our eyes with tears, cause our hearts to race, make the hair on the backs of our necks stand on end, boggle the mind, and literally take our breath away - in other words, a life full of awe.”
I really found this interesting. Awe is an emotion which is least referred to - the common ones being fear, anger, happiness, etc. This book described it as the twelfth emotion. It got me thinking. Awe seems to me as something that can only be achieved or felt after completely letting go of the false image of yourself, others and the world. I am rarely awed. Seldom am I to the point where I am speechless and cannot close my mouth. It’s a shame, because it is a blessing. We’re never satisfied, us humans. We’re always either looking for what we think we don’t have or what we once had but never really appreciated. I think these awe-inspiring moments should be treasured. It is a profound emotion and keeps you real.
I am awed in the way that my life has played out thus far. One can never anticipate what is to come. I would have never pictured being here right now, writing this. I would have never believed it if someone were to tell me that I would be this happy, or satisfied, or simply amazed by life. I am grateful for every single thing that has happened, because it has made me who i am at this very moment. We evolve, we grow, and finding that joy, purpose, and personal growth has happened because i have explored, lived in the moment, and embraced uncertainty. The fact is, life is uncertain.
